Last Will and Testament of Samuel Curtis

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
of me SAMUEL CURTIS of Stalbridge in the County of Dorset retired Builder and Contractor Whereby I revoke and cancel all former Wills and Codicils and testamentary writings heretofore made by me I appoint my son WILLIAM HOWARD CURTIS and my daughter LINDA FANNY CURTIS EXECUTORS and Trustees hereof and I direct them as soon as conveniently may be after my decease to pay all my Just debts and my funeral and testamentary expenses I give devise and bequeath to my said daughter Linda Fanny Curtis absolutely my cottage and premises at Stalbridge now in the occupation of Alec Roberts my Cottage and premises at Church Hill Stalbridge now in the occupation of Fred Cluett the two policies of Assurance on my life for the respective sums of Two hundred pounds and One hundred and fifty pounds effected with the Life Association of Scotland Insurance Company dated respectively the first day of October One thousand eight hundred and eighty four and the first day of June One thousand nine hundred and nine and numbered 70254 and 92000 and the said sums of Two hundred pounds and One hundred and fifty pounds and all bonuses and other sums payable in respect thereof together with my India Three pounds ten shillings per cent stock and all my shares in the National Provincial and Union Bank of England Limited and my Five pounds per cent Debenture Stock in the Argentine Great Western Railway and all moneys invested in War Loan and National War Exchequer and Victory Bonds I also confirm the gift made the twenty fifth day of May One thousand nine hundred and twenty one to my said daughter of all my household furniture and effects in my said dwelling house (except my carved Oak chair) together with all my table linen and oak china and music cabinets there I give to Alfred Henry Curtis my carved Oakchair I give and bequeath All those my two freehold houses at Church Hill Stalbridge aforesaid now in the occupation of Charles Senior and Elihu Clarke All that my freehold house with the gardens stables coach house and orchard known as "Tapshays" situate at Marnhull in the County of Dorset and now in the occupation of Doctor Munro and all my shares in Liptons Limited and all my shares in Schweppes Limited to my son the said William Howard Curtis absolutely I give to my son Walter Curtis absolutely the Policy of Insurance effected with the Clerical Medical and General Life Assurance Society on the life of the said Walter Curtis dated the twentieth day of December One thousand nine hundred and seven and numbered 42958 for the sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds and all bonuses and other sums payable in respect thereof free of any principal and interest due to me at my death in respect of the mortgage thereof to me I give and devise All those my two freehold cottages situate at Burton Street Marnhull aforesaid and now occupied as one tenement by Mrs Bastable All that my freehold dwellinghouse with the Shop Bakehouse Stables Outbuildings and premises known as "The Stores" situate at Burton Street Marnhull aforesaid and my three cottages at Henstridge in the County of Somerset unto my Trustees Upon trust to sell the same and to invest the proceeds thereof and to hold the same Upon trust to pay the income thereof to my son Walter Curtis for his life less Twenty five pounds per annum to be paid by my Trustees to my son the said William Howard Curtis and on the death of the said Walter Curtis as to capital and income for my said son William Howard Curtis and my said daughter Linda Fanny Curtis absolutely in equal shares or if one of them be dead at the time of the decease of my said son Walter Curtis then for the survivor of the said William Howard Curtis and Linda Fanny Curtis absolutely and in the event of the said William Howard Curtis and Linda Fanny Curtis both predeceasing the said Walter Curtis then for the said Walter Curtis absolutely I declare that my Trustees shall have a discretionary power to postpone for such period as to them or him or her shall seem expedient the sale calling in or conversion of any parts of my real or personal estate but the unsold real estate and the outstanding personal estate shall be subject to the trusts hereinbefore contained concerning the investments aforesaid and the rents and yearly produce thereof shall be deemed annual income for the purposes of such trusts and the unsold real estate shall be deemed to be converted as from the time of my death and be transmiss~ble as personal estate accordingly All the residue of my real and personal estate I hereby give devise and bequeath unto my Executors the said William Howard Curtis and Linda Fanny Curtis Upon trust to sell the same and to divide the net proceeds thereof equally share and share alike between mv three children the said William Howard Curtis Linda Fanny Curtis and Walter Curtis In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this seventh day of October One thousand nine hundred and twenty six
